Brap brap brap brap…You either love it or loath it, the sound of a rotary engine idling away, either way it’s a sound that can’t be ignored in the New Zealand modified car scene. Rotors they are everywhere, and more often than not these engines find there way under the hood of vehicles that Mr. Mazda didn’t originally intend for.
But if you weigh up the pros and cons when dropping in an after market engine the pros stack up in a big way towards a rotary, they are light, take up very little room, use very minimal wiring, make insane power, rev like crazy and have aftermarket bolt on parts list as long as the param white pages. It was a cold Wellington night and there I was, abandoned at Ignition HQ with the Lackie while the others were out on a shoot. While my discontent for the situation grew, I tried to set the little bastard’s jeans on fire to entertain myself, five minutes, one pair of jeans and a empty fire extinguisher later we were in the midst of an argument in regards to where he is more likely to get laid… if at all.
